Is it AAP's fault?

Now Congress and BJP blame AAP for not forming a government in Delhi causing possible re-election that would cost huge amount to exchequer. They succeeded to a certain extend in putting AAP responsible - AAP is blamed if they do not compromise which will result in a re-election, and they will be blamed if they support any party to form a government or if accept support from other parties to form a government themselves! But how correct is this to blame AAP for such a situation?

Ideally BJP, being single largest party, should form the government. AAP, being second largest party, should sit in opposition and play its role responsibly. Congress who can't be any of the above should support BJP from outside in order to avoid a re-election (personally I will not ridicule or criticise Congress for doing that). BJP should appreciate the situation and take the opposition and the supporting parties into confidence. If BJP goes terribly wrong, Congress and AAP always have option to pull them down.

However if any party extends its unconditional support for AAP to form a government, I feel as long as it is unconditional, AAP should form the government and start implementing their election promises. Start with the Lokpal Bill which AAP promised to pass in the first month itself. At any time when they start putting conditions or hinder the functioning of the government as per the AAP's manifesto, AAP can resign and recommend for re-election.

However I would not blame AAP for not accepting support from other party to form government as they had made it clear before the election that they would not give support to or accept support from any other party. One should appreciate that they got votes despite this assertion.

It is surprising to hear from the supporters of these parties blaming AAP for not accepting Congress' support. The same people would have criticised and ridiculed AAP if they had accepted it!

For me, if AAP accept unconditional support from BJP or Congress, well and good. If they do not accept, nothing wrong in it as it was their stand even before election.

But the fact is that no party has offered unconditional support to AAP, and they still blame AAP for not forming the government!
